This week we started the meetings with the local associations to pilot the activities of the guide of this second phase of the project that we are in 🏳️‍🌈Here are some pictures of the process in Spain, where @altekio met with @intered_mad , an organisation which works with gender perspectives and is now going deeper into LGBTIQ+ issues. We worked specifically on the path of organisational change, analysing how formal/informal and visible/invisible structures promote the patriarchal view and hetero-cis-normativity. From there, we can focus on how to work on changing both processes and interactions to transform structures so that they become more inclusive and egalitarian for all people, especially queer people.
InteRed’s gratitude for this session, for creating a safe space for reflection and honest sharing (which is often difficult to do internally in organisations), was one aspect of this session that we highlighted😍 As well as the transformative view that our project brings: 👁️‍🗨️what are we doing now? ↪️How can we transform it? ↪️What actions can we take to make it happen?

Today, as it is Zero Discrimination Day, we are returning to our social media communication to share with you all the progress we are making during this time, as part of the second phase of the project.
Since our last meeting, and in the last few months @xena_padova @orlandolgbt.gr @altekio @altekio_swiss we have been working hard on the adaptation of our ‘GATE Guide for Including Gender Perspective in Organisations’, focusing on how to be more inclusive of lgtbaq+ people and raising awareness. We started a comprehensive and thought-provoking training on LGBTQ+ issues. We have reviewed basic concepts and terminology, reflected on power structures and privilege, norms and institutional violence. We have discussed what kind of problems and obstacles queer young people can face and what we can do to create a safe space where all are welcome. We shared about the realities in the participating countries (Italy 🇮🇹Greece🇬🇷Switzerland🇨🇭and Spain🇪🇸... and more, thanks to our diverse team, with a view also to Argentina and Hungary). And this is just the beginning! Let’s continue! ⛵️

We are very pleased to announce that we have been working the last months on a second phase of this project: GATE process +. The purpose of this new step of the project is to advance gender equality, with a focus on preventing gender-based violence against LGBTQIA+ people. The initiative aims to support the cultural and social transformation necessary to acknowledge gender diversity particulary on two levels: organizational and youth, providing tools and empowerment resources. 📻 Stay tuned for updates!
